DILUTE ACID DELINTING

Dilute Acid Delinting is the most efficient and environmentally friendly method used in the removal of residual lint from cotton planting seed. A precisely controlled amount of specially formulated sulfuric acid mix solution is applied to the fuzzy seed in the Stainless Steel Reactor. By limiting the acid applied, less fuel is used in the drying phase, noxious residue is held to a minimum and production of black seed is enhanced. The Dilute Acid delinting method can be completed using two different methods designed to fit the production needs of the operator.

The L.T. Kincer MLK Dilute Acid Delinting System is a batch system that is suited to production rates from 1,000 lbs. per hour to 6 Tons per hour. Smaller batches and larger production are possible. Please contact L.T. Kincer Co. for details.

The L.T. Kincer Continuous Acid Delinting System is a high production system that is suited to production rates from 4 Tons per hour up to 12 tons per hour. Larger production rates are possible. Please contact L.T. Kincer Co. for details.

MECHANICAL BRUSH DELINTING

Mechanical Brush Delinting for planting seed is performed in an L.T. Kincer Co. patented KINCO Brush Delinter. While the production rates are significantly lower than Acid Delinting, the residual lint is not destroyed in the process. Delinting occurs as the fuzzy seed is scrubbed through the interior of a perforated screen cylinder. The scrubbing action of the interior brushes rubs the seed across the perforations allowing the airflow to remove the lint from the machine. Mechanical Brush Delinting requires more energy that Acid Delinting and is not as complete.

Each seed will show some lint remnants at each end of the oval shaped seed. Due to the abrasive action of the brushes, care must be taken to prevent overheating the seed and/or damaging the seed coat. Mechanical Brush Delinting does not use any chemicals and can produce a small quantity of useable low grade lint as a by-product.
